What are they?
Apprenticeships are an exciting way to develop your career. Apprenticeships combine work-based experience with training. You’ll gain a nationally recognised qualification and earn a salary whilst doing it – best of all the training costs for apprenticeships are fully funded by the employer and the government.
Who are they for?
Apprenticeships start at 16 years old with no upper age limit, so whether you’re starting out in your first job, already in a job and want to gain professional qualifications, thinking about re-training into a different career, or returning to work, an apprenticeship could be for you.
What can I study?
Whether you're just starting out, or continuing your professional journey with a degree apprenticeship, there are over 340 different apprenticeships available, with more being developed all the time. Levels of study vary from:

How long does an apprenticeship take?
An apprenticeship generally lasts between one and four years dependent on the level of qualification, but some may take longer. The time taken to complete your apprenticeship will also depend on your personal motivation and enthusiasm as well as your personal circumstances.
What will I gain?
Apprenticeships are real jobs with real responsibilities. You’ll be earning a salary and studying towards a qualification. You will also benefit from:
