Visual Impairment Rehabilitation Services

The Visual Impairment Rehabilitation team can:

  • provide advice and guidance around visual impairment
  • explore how to overcome the practical difficulties arising from your sight loss
  • create an individual plan to meet your needs.

Training and support can be provided in your own home, your local area or in other parts of Birmingham depending on your agreed goals.

A wide range of needs are covered including:

  • mobility (within your home or accessing the community)
  • accessing specialist support networks
  • specialist equipment
  • technology to help with your daily living such as kitchen skills, reading and accessing information.

The rehabilitation officer will support you to overcome any fears and difficulties, concentrating on safer techniques or options as well as your confidence.
