Ptolemy's Cosmographia

Ptolemys cosmographia book scan

Printed in 1482 in Germany and hand-coloured, the Cosmographia is from the Library’s unique collection of medieval atlases. Donated by the Cadbury family, it includes maps of the world as it was known at the time, stretching from the Canary Islands to the Gulf of Thailand.
