The Parson and Clerk

The parson and clerk photograph

The Parson and Clerk on the Chester Road in Sutton Coldfield. These two photographs were taken 105 years apart, the first by Sir J. Benjamin Stone for the Warwickshire Photographic Survey in 1907 and the second taken in November 2012.

The Parson and Clerk as gone through some changes in the time, including some modifications to the bays, the ground floor windows appear to have been replaced and most notably the extension of the building towards the Chester Road and Sutton Park. However, it has kept much of its original appeal, with the characteristic dormers that project from the roof, and the exposed timber frame style of the first floor.
