The Granville/O'Neill's

The granville oneills photograph

The Granville in the 1950s and in 2012 as O'Neill's. The building itself is unchanged and the four arches around the top display the Mitchells and Butlers logo and the year it was built, 1923.

Reportedly designed by Arthur Edwards, a local architect based on Bennett's Hill. The lamps above the doors are clearly not original as they do not appear in the first image, however the brackets that hold them in place are believed to be. The Figure of Eight can also be seen on the left of O'Neill's in the more recent picture, however in the 1950s this pub was the National Assistance Board area office, flanked by a cafe, and ladies' hairdressers.
