The Gate Inn

The gate inn photograph

The Gate Inn in May 1938 and now as the Boldmere Harvester in November 2012. Despite the apparent physical changes the pub has gone through, it is still in the same location on the corner of Boldmere Road and Gate Lane.

Also known as the Boldmere Hotel it was reportedly demolished in 1938 and perhaps the reason it was photographed by E H Sargeant as part of the Warwickshire Photographic Survey.

The current building directly replaced it in 1939, and has more recently become part of the Harvester group. In 1938 the Gate Inn sold Ansell's Ales, from the Aston Brewery.
