Birmingham's Local Economic Assessment provides an objective analysis of the local economy, focussing on it's current state and how it might change and develop in the future. The assessment is structured into three broad sections:

The Economic Profile provides context, analysis and future prospects for the local economy in set of 6 modules, including drivers of change and economic resilience.
Economic Update (280KB PDF Published monthly)
This report provides an update of the latest economic data and developments effecting the national, regional and local economy, including the latest intelligence on economic growth & recovery and business conditions.
This report, commissioned from the Economics and Strategy Group at Aston Business School, uses a new Office of National Statistics (ONS) database to undertake a longitudenal analysis of firm-level data to determine what type of firms are creating jobs in the city.
Sector Profiles
A suite of seven profiles of key growth sectors in the city. The profiles integrate data analysis with intelligence from sector experts, businesses, research institutions and networks to increase our understanding of how the sectors support the local economy now, and show how they can develop their potential for the future. Published June 2011.
