New conditions of licence

The new conditions of licence for Hackney Carriage Vehicles, Private Hire Drivers and Vehicles and Private Hire Operators took effect from 1 January 2020.

The new conditions have been agreed for some time and were widely consulted on at the time, however approval of the signage policy delayed the implementation of the new conditions.

This has now been approved by Licensing and Public Protection Committee and so the new conditions became effective on 1 January 2020.

Please note hackney carriage vehicles are now supposed to have an alternative means of payment from the same date.
