Your licence - your responsibility
Whether you are a vehicle proprietor, licensed driver or operator, your licence is your own responsibility.
It is up to YOU to ensure you take the necessary steps to protect your licence. This includes:
- Complying with your conditions of licence (issued with your licence)
- Renewing your licence in good time – BEFORE it expires.
- Completing the required tests on time (medicals, DBS, MOT etc)
- MAINTAINING your vehicle – common faults identified on stop checks include lights, side repeaters, brakes and tyres.
- Remember - it is against the law to refuse to carry a guide dog unless you have a valid medical exemption certificate.
- Do not drive when you are incapacitated through illness or other reasons.
Report any incidents to your operator (PH) as soon as reasonably possible.
