A more personal approach to adult social care

Budget Consultation 2012-2013 - We would like your views

Birmingham City Council is currently consulting on the Council Business Plan and Budget 2012+ which is the most extensive public consultation ever held on Birmingham City Council’s finances.

The Council Business Plan outlines ideas for making new savings of approximately £65m in 2012/13, whilst still ensuring that it meets its priorities which include protecting vulnerable people, making Birmingham a clean, safe and green city and growing the economy. You can find these proposals and an online questionnaire here.

Adults and Communities further consultation

Along with giving your views in the Budget Views consultation we are asking for people's understanding of the Adults and Communities Proposed Budget 2012-2013. We have prepared an Adults and Communities Proposed Budget 2012-2013 Consulation document that provides further explanation about our budget proposals. For us to better understand what you think of our proposals we have created a separate questionnaire. You can find these proposals and a questionnaire here

Adults and Communities are also hosting a series of public consultation events. To find out more click here.

The budget views consulation ends on Sunday 8th January 2012 and the Adults and Communities consulations on Monday 6th February 2012.

Adults and Communities is part of Birmingham City Council. We used to be called Social Care and Health and, before that, Social Services.

We provide social care services that help adults in Birmingham to live as independently as they can and to be part of their local community. We support people to live the life they choose. This approach to adult social care is called 'personalisation'. To find out more about how personalisation is changing social care services for people in Birmingham, see the 'Did You Know?' web page. The link to the Did You Know? page is under the 'Go straight to...' heading below.
