Planning Enforcement Complaint Form

Important: Please read all the information below before completing the online complaints form. We do not investigate anonymous complaints or issues that are not planning related.

Declaration

Birmingham City Council is committed to investigate building work or other development that appears to have occurred without planning permission in line with the Birmingham Local Enforcement Plan (BLEP).

Before beginning the online form you should refer to our Birmingham Local Enforcement Plan (BLEP) for information on the service we provide and how we deal with any complaints we receive. To confirm your complaint is a valid planning enforcement complaint and that you have referred to the Birmingham City Council Local Enforcement Plan you will need to complete the declaration on the next page.

Helping you make your complaint

The online form also contains helpful links to planning guidance and we encourage you to refer to this guidance before submitting your complaint, as this may provide the answers you are looking for without requiring further investigation from the Council. This will also help you to understand whether your complaint is related to planning enforcement or whether other services may be better placed to assist with your concerns.

If you would like us to investigate a planning related issue you will need to complete all the information requested in the online form which is relevant to the type of breach being complained about. Any complaints which do not provide the necessary information may be deemed invalid and returned.
