Applying for a Council Tax discount if you are a care worker

A care worker is someone who is employed to provide care or support for someone else.

In a week, they must:

• provide care for 24 hours or more
• earn less than £44 each week

Before you start

You will need:

• the name and address of the Council Tax payer
• the name of the person being cared for
• details about the care worker's employment, such as:
  • if they are caring on behalf of a council or charity
  • the hours they work
  • their pay
