Message to students getting exam results

Published: Tuesday, 10th August 2021

Cllr Jayne Francis, cabinet member for education, skills and culture, congratulates students for their hard work, and talks about available options.

"Today thousands of students across Birmingham will be receiving exam results.

"I know every young person has worked incredibly hard under very challenging circumstances – you should all be extremely proud of yourselves.

"Congratulations to those of you who have achieved the results you were hoping for. I wish you all the very best for your future endeavours whether you are off to university, about to start an apprenticeship or heading into the world of employment.

"Some of you may be disappointed with your results. Try not to worry; there are plenty of options open to you.

"The UCAS exam results helpline is a good place for expert, independent advice on 0800 100 900.

"You can also try Birmingham Careers Service https://www.birminghamcareersservice.co.uk/

"It is also worth remembering that Birmingham’s libraries have a wide range of resources relating to learning, careers and job hunting, for loan, reference and self-study.

"So well done again to everyone, and huge thanks to the teachers, support staff, families and friends who have supported you through the last year."
