Druids Heath library update

Published: Monday, 4th March 2019

It has been confirmed that repairs to the heating system at Druids Heath library will start this week.

Councillor Jayne Francis, cabinet member for education, skills and culture, said:

"Our aim has always been to secure the long-term future of Druids Heath library.

"I’m really pleased to confirm that repairs to the library’s heating and hot water system will begin this week. Once this is complete the library will be re-opened as soon as possible following the usual checks, cleaning and the library furniture, equipment and books being put back in place.

"This is great news for the people of Druids Heath and I really appreciate their patience as we looked at all options available within the current very difficult financial climate.

"Like many of our community libraries, we want to see it develop with greater community and partner input so it can operate as a wider more of a community hub as well as a library service.

"We will now work with partners to look at how we can secure a sustainable community facility."
