New Funding and Support Fair to Boost Community Organisations

Published: Wednesday, 18th March 2026

Community groups from across Birmingham are invited to attend the Funding and Being Fundable Fair on Wednesday 25 March 2026, taking place at the iconic Alexander Stadium from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

This major event will bring together grassroots organisations, neighbourhood groups, charities, social enterprises, and key funders for a dynamic day of learning, networking, and practical support.

The Fair will feature a vibrant Funders and Community Support Marketplace, offering attendees the chance to meet face-to-face with leading funders including Tesco Bags of Help, The National Lottery Community Fund, and Heart of England Community Foundation. This is a unique opportunity for local groups to ask questions directly, understand eligibility criteria, explore new funding streams, and gain insights into how to strengthen applications in an increasingly competitive funding landscape.

In addition to the marketplace, attendees can take part in a programme of interactive workshops designed to build confidence, sharpen fundraising approaches, and support long-term organisational sustainability. Sessions will cover key topics such as becoming funder ready, writing stronger bids, evidencing community need, understanding monitoring requirements, and developing organisational resilience.

Whether you are an established community organisation or just starting out, the Fair offers something for everyone. Free refreshments will be available throughout the day, creating a relaxed and welcoming space to network, share experiences, and spark new collaborations.

Councillor Jamie Scott, Cabinet Member for Social Justice, Community Safety and Equalities, said: “Birmingham’s community groups play an essential role in supporting residents, strengthening neighbourhoods, and driving positive change. This event is designed to give local organisations the tools, confidence, and connections they need to thrive. I strongly encourage all groups—big or small, new or established—to come along and make the most of the expert support on offer.”

Registration is essential as capacity is limited. Community groups are encouraged to secure their place early via Eventbrite. Click here to register.
