Application for injunction regarding blockading of waste depots
Application for injunction against persons unknown:
In May 2025 the Council obtained an injunction to tackle the obstruction and blockading carried out by Unite the Union.
Since September 2025 the Council has experienced blockading from groups of unknown activists who were not covered by the May 2025 injunction.
The impact on the city and its residents is not acceptable and therefore the council has had no choice but to seek a further injunction against persons unknown to stop this disruption.
On 3rd February 2026 the city council made an application to the High Court for an injunction to tackle this recent blockading and obstruction being experienced at its waste depots.
