UEFA EURO 2028 tournament launch celebrated in Birmingham

Tournament brand including Host City logo unveiled. Villa Park set to host four games as part of the tournament.

UEFA EURO 2028 was officially launched today with celebration events and activations held across the UK and Ireland, including in one of the host cities Birmingham, where the host city logo was unveiled and the Library of Birmingham was lit up in celebration.

Preparations gather pace as UEFA and UK & Ireland 2028 will deliver the largest sporting event ever jointly staged by the co-host nations with more than three million match tickets available for fans – greater than any previous EURO.

 The Tournament will excite fans worldwide and create long-lasting benefits for communities through an amazing celebration of top-class international football.

The Match Schedule has been announced, confirming that the Tournament begins at the National Stadium of Wales, Cardiff, on Friday 9 June and reaches an exciting conclusion with the Final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 9 July.

Staged in nine world-class stadia across eight famous Host Cities, UEFA EURO 2028 UK & Ireland is building up to be a compelling showcase of elite football. Birmingham is set to welcome fans for four games at Villa Park, with games taking place on 11, 15, 20 and 27 June.

This tournament is just not about delivering an unforgettable summer of football on the pitch but creating lasting social and economic benefits for our residents and businesses beyond the pitch.”
