On behalf of all Birmingham residents, I would like to express my deepest condolences to His Majesty The King and the Royal Family following the death of Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Kent.
We join the Royal Family, and people across the nation, in mourning her loss and in recognising her dedication and commitment to public life.
Flags will be flying at half-mast as a mark of respect.
