Birmingham City Council Issues Corrected Library Consultation Pack
In the final phase of consultation, we based option 3 on library rankings. The rankings were generated by a priority list which balanced community need and usage and access data.
Subsequently, an error has been identified in the priority list rankings. This has been corrected and a revised option 3 produced, which is included in this pack. Although this revision does not alter the recommended proposal, option 4, the Council welcomes additional thoughts and comments on options 3 and 4. This update corrects a final phase of consultation, priority list ranking error.
The corrected consultation pack includes:
- Corrected Priority List Ranking – A revised ranking based on updated usage and access data from August 2023 to July 2024.
- Corrected Option 3 – Reflecting the amended priority list and accessible for review.
- Revised Option 4 Proposal – The Council’s recommended option, previously communicated during the consultation period from 23 October to 3 November.
The Council values the engagement and perspectives of residents in this process. Feedback previously submitted will be taken into consideration, with additional comments now specifically invited, regarding views on the options. Residents are encouraged to participate by sharing their views to ensure the community’s priorities are accurately represented in the final decision. The BeHeard survey can be found here and is available from 14 November to 12 December.
