Secondary school transfer day - offers at 1 March 2023

Pupils will today find out which secondary school they will attend in September. This year, 71% of pupils have been offered their first preference and over 95% one of their preferences.

Birmingham pupils

15,107    Birmingham pupils applied to transfer to secondary school down from 15,214 in 2022. 

14,803 (97.99 %)  Number of applications received on-line (down 0.51%) * 
73,595    Total number of preferences submitted (down 665) 
14,449     Applicants offered one of their chosen preferences 
653 (4.32%)    Offered a school place that was not one of their preferences (down 0.67%)
1,173   Offered a school outside of Birmingham compared to 1364 in 2022
