Have your say on Birmingham’s 25-year City of Nature plan
Public consultation begins on the City of Nature 25-year plan to grow Birmingham’s green spaces from 600 to 1000.
The plan which was approved by Birmingham City Council’s Cabinet in February 2022, proposes to increase green spaces in the city’s most nature-deprived areas according to the Environmental Justice measure.
Public health experts argue that better access to green spaces will improve public health while also helping to slow the climate change.
The consultation will allow Birmingham’s residents to contribute their ideas about the types of green spaces they would like to experience in their immediate neighbourhoods and thoughts on the themes and ideas presented by the Council.
Promoted via the Birmingham City Council website, media release and social media, the consultation’s results should be available for public reading by the end of April 2022.
From 15 February to 17 March 2022, residents are invited to share their thoughts on BeHeard online at: Our Future Nature City Plan | Birmingham City Council
