City Vision
Why we need a City Vision
Councillor John Cotton, Leader of Birmingham City Council and Chair of Shaping Birmingham’s Future Together said:
Birmingham is our city. We live here, work here and learn here. We share a deep pride in our growing and ever-changing city, but we also know that our city has challenges.
For too long, the Birmingham story has been a Tale of Two Cities: a booming city centre with cranes dotting the skyline, in stark contrast to neighbourhoods with high levels of poverty and unemployment just a stone’s throw away.
This inequality must change, our City Vision for 2035, designed with partners, citizens and communities and includes details of our shared ambitions, it draws on our rich history and maps out a bright future.
Our vision for Birmingham is a city that has a thriving economy, tackles inequality, where all communities can enjoy greater opportunities and the wellbeing that brings.
