Dementia Friends

Dementia Friends is an Alzheimer's Society initiative.

Dementia Friends help by raising awareness and understanding in the community, so that people living with dementia can continue to live in the way they want.

Being a Dementia Friend means understanding the 5 important messages we think everyone should know about dementia:

  1. Dementia is not a natural part of ageing.
  2. There is more to the person than the dementia.
  3. Dementia is caused by diseases of the brain.
  4. Dementia is not just about losing your memory.
  5. It is possible to live well with dementia.
