How we monitor the performance of our adult social care services
We monitor how well our adult social care services are performing in several ways:
- Against targets that we set ourselves, including those in:
- Against national standards set by others, including:
- The Department of Health’s Adult Social Care Outcomes Framework (ASCOF)
- Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspections
- The sector led improvement work of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS)
- Against local standards set by others, including:
- Birmingham’s Health and Wellbeing Board
- The Birmingham Safeguarding Adults Board, which monitors how well we’re protecting vulnerable adults thought to be at risk of abuse, neglect and discrimination.
- Healthwatch Birmingham
- Health and Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee
- The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Through feedback from Birmingham’s citizens, service users and carers, including:
- Comments, complaints and feedback to the council
- People for Public Services Forum
