Solar Together Birmingham - buying solar panels and battery storage made easy

Since recognising the climate emergency in 2019, Birmingham City Council has been actively promoting renewable energy initiatives. Recognizing the negative impacts posed by climate change for Birmingham and the UK, the council aims to achieve net zero carbon emissions and support residents to transition to sustainable ways of living. As part of these efforts, the council is collaborating with Solar Together to boost solar energy adoption, reduce bills, and save carbon emissions.

Birmingham City Council has partnered with iChoosr Ltd, who are independent experts in group-buying, to bring Solar Together to Birmingham’s homeowners.

Solar Together Birmingham is an innovative new scheme offering high-quality solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and battery storage. It is a group-buying scheme, which brings Birmingham households together to get high-quality solar panels at a competitive price, helping you through the process and keeping you informed at every stage.

Planning Permission

Solar PV installations are considered a 'permitted development' and will generally not need planning permission. However, in some cases, such as in Conservation Areas and on Listed Buildings, planning permission may be required. For planning advice, you can visit Conservation areas and Listed buildings.

Do you already have solar panels installed? You can also register to have battery storage added to your existing solar panels to maximise the benefits of your system.
