Reporting of Disease and Dangerous Occurrences (RIDDOR) Compliance

RIDDOR reporting requirements relating to cases of disease, or deaths, from COVID-19 apply where an employee has been infected with COVID-19 through:

  • Deliberately working with the virus, such as a laboratory
  • Being incidentally exposed to the virus

Incidental exposure can occur when working in environments where people are known to have COVID-19.

To understand when a report under RIDDOR is still needed, you can read more on the RIDDOR reporting of COVID-19 guidance from HSE.
