Sutton Coldfield Town Centre Regeneration Partnership is planning an exciting future for the town centre. The ‘Sutton Coldfield Town Centre Masterplan’ Supplementary Planning document was adopted by the council on 24 May 2021. It sets out the aspirations for the regeneration of the town centre and provides guidance to support planning applications.
The Bordesley Park Area Action Plan (AAP) is a development plan to guide the growth and regeneration of the area to the east of the city centre.
This plan includes parts of Washwood Heath, Bordesley Green, Bordesley Village and Small Heath, to 2031.
Bordesley Park AAP includes the Coventry Road District Centre. The AAP sets out opportunities for new employment and housing growth to meet existing and future needs, improved local centres and enhanced public transport options, creating an improved environment in which to live and work.
The Perry Barr 2040: A Vision for Legacy masterplan was adopted by the council on 8 February 2022. Regeneration in Perry Barr is underway, including transport improvements, the Perry Barr residential project and improvements for the Commonwealth Games.
In June 2022 the council submitted bids to the government’s Levelling Up Fund for funding to support the regeneration of Erdington and Northfield district centres.
