Preparing your new plot

The council does not help with clearing or preparing allotment plots.

Some allotment associations may offer support, such as:

• access to machinery
• help from other plot holders
• communal skip hire

You are responsible for removing any rubbish from your plot. Take it to a suitable tip or recycling centre.

Cultivating your plot

It may take several seasons to fully cultivate your plot.

While you work on it, make sure to:

• keep the plot clear of rubbish
• control any uncultivated areas by strimming or spraying
