Rent and other costs
Allotments are rented on a yearly basis. Rent is due on 1 October each year. If you take on a plot after 1 April, you will receive a 50% discount.
You will be charged a late payment fee of £10 if your rent is not paid by 9 November.
A reduced rate is offered to pensioners.

Other costs
If your site is managed by an Allotment Association, you will also need to pay them a small annual fee. Contact your association to find out more.
Some sites will also ask you to pay a small deposit for your key to the allotment. This will be refunded at the end of your tenancy when you return your key.
You are responsible for the cost of maintaining your plot.
