Temporary library closures
From 22 July, library opening hours have changed.
These changes are temporary and are solely due to staff resignations which leaves limited staff availability over the coming weeks.
We are in the process of recruiting and the temporary schedule will be reviewed regularly, with normal hours resuming as staffing permits.

We have different opening hours at each library. You can check the opening hours on each library page. Find your local library.
Aston library
From 10 February 2025, Aston Library will be open on Mondays only from 9:00am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 5:00pm, until further notice.
Balsall Heath library
Balsall Heath library is closed for major building and remodelling works, including adding a mezzanine floor.
Progress on opening the library will be published here as soon as possible.

The nearest libraries to Balsall Heath library are Kings Heath library and Sparkhill library.
Frankley library
Frankley Library will be closing at 3:50pm on:
- Monday 14 April
- Wednesday 16 April
- Wednesday 23 April
We will be closed on Monday 21 April.

Spring Hill library
The library is closed until further notice due to issues with the building. Due to the age and current state of the pipework in the building, a new heating solution is required. A feasibility study has been approved to obtain a quote for a new boiler.
The Library of Birmingham is less than a mile away from Spring Hill library, offering an alternative service for members of the public during the closure.
Progress on opening Spring Hill Library will be published here as soon as the necessary works have been scheduled.
All libraries are closed on Bank Holidays.
