COVID-19: Affected library services

Library services in Birmingham are operating in line with national and local government guidance. Safety is our top priority. Please be aware that services may be subject to change as local COVID 19 circumstances develop. Read more about the services that are currently available.

Library Services online continue to offer access to eBooks, databases, blogs and children’s activities from our Library services web pages.

Birmingham Libraries

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on 4 January, the country has entered a period of stricter national lockdown restrictions. Birmingham libraries are taking immediate action to protect the public. As part of comprehensive city council measures, libraries (including the Order and Collect Service) are temporarily closed.

At the Library of Birmingham we are offering Books by Post. We will be offering this service at some Community Libraries from 1 February 2021. To check if you are eligible, find out more about this offer or to submit a request please see our website.

Mobile Library
