What we can and cannot recycle

Mixed material

We can recycle:

  • glass bottles and jars
  • plastic bottles
  • food and drink cans
  • plastic food pots, tubs, and trays

We cannot recycle:

  • toughened glass
  • pyrex and ceramics
  • black plastics
  • fruit punnets and meat trays
  • microwave meal trays
  • tetrapaks
  • plastic film

Paper and cardboard

Any paper and cardboard can be recycled, including:

  • newspapers and magazines
  • large cardboard boxes
  • junk mail
  • envelopes
  • directories and catalogues
  • yellow pages and telephone directories
  • office paper
  • manufacturing off-cuts and scrap
  • cereal boxes and microwave meal outers
  • toilet roll and kitchen roll inners
