The Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government established the Birmingham Independent Improvement Panel to provide support and challenge to the City Council as it undertook the measures necessary to secure the improvements needed to effectively and efficiently deliver local public services for all the City’s communities, give value for money for local taxpayers, and promote growth and wellbeing across the City.
The Panel’s work covered the period of January 2015 to March 2019 and its costs were shared equally by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and Birmingham City Council.
