If the school you wish to appeal for is not on this list, contact the school directly for details of their appeals arrangements.
- Please note you cannot appeal for the same school in the same academic year unless there has been a material and significant change in your circumstances since your last appeal hearing i.e. change of address or a sibling being admitted at the school.
- If your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) you must contact Birmingham's Local Offer team.
- The closing date for appeals is 15 May 2024. Appeals received after this date may not be heard by the start of school in September.
- You must complete all sections of the form before deciding to appeal
Please consider the following carefully:
- Do you have compelling reasons why your child should attend the school(s) you applied for and were refused admission to?
- Would your child be particularly disadvantaged by not attending the school(s) you applied for and were refused admission to?
- Are there any other exceptional circumstances that would prevent your child from attending the school offered to them?
- Has a mistake been made which meant your child was not offered a place at a school you applied for?
- Do you have any evidence to support your appeal, e.g., hospital or doctor's documents?
The appeals process
Consider the likelihood of your appeal being successful. Appeals are generally only successful if you or your child have exceptional reasons for needing admission to a particular school.
