Young marketeers market day
Pupils from local primary schools sell fresh, school-grown produce at Bullring Open Market in support of FareShare Midlands.
Pupils have spent the past few months growing fruit and vegetables from seed as part of a project led by a charity and supported by us.
This event lets them use what they have learned by running stalls and selling their produce.
The children have learned how to:
- grow food
- work together
- get ready to run a market stall
The project also helps them understand where food comes from and how it can be shared with others.
Visitors can expect:
- stalls run by pupils selling seasonal fruit and vegetables
- a mix of produce such as carrots, cucumbers, potatoes, strawberries and herbs
- an opportunity to support a local charity through purchases
This event supports learning, community involvement and awareness of food reuse through FareShare Midlands.
