Sea Change by British Youth Music Theatre
A new folk musical by British Youth Music Theatre, performed at Birmingham Hippodrome.
The story is set in Blackwater Cove during a rare tidal eclipse. For one week, selkies from the sea can walk on land and live among humans.
As the full moon approaches, they must decide whether to return to the sea or stay on land. The story explores identity, belonging and the pull between different ways of living.
The production uses folk melodies, nautical ballads and shanties to bring mythology into a modern setting through live performance and music.
Performances take place in the Patrick Studio at Birmingham Hippodrome on
- Friday 28 August at 7:15pm
- Saturday 29 August at 2:15pm and 7:15pm
- Sunday 30 August at 2:15pm
Running time is approximately 80 minutes, with no interval.
