Verve open mic poetry night
A friendly open mic at The Hive where anyone can share poems or spoken word in a relaxed space.
This open mic night is open to everyone, whether you are new to poetry or have performed for years.
You get up to 5 minutes to share your work.
There are 20 slots to sign up for on the night. If more people want to perform, names are drawn from a hat.
You can expect:
- time to read your own poems
- a relaxed space to try spoken word
- a mix of voices from across Birmingham
- no headline act, so more space for open mic
The event is free to attend and runs on a pay as you feel basis. All funds go to the venue.
Verve aims to offer a safe and welcoming space for people from all backgrounds. Everyone is welcome to take part or listen.
