Medieval and renaissance loud winds workshop

Play medieval music all day with expert musicians, then hear it live in concert in the evening.

Join the International Guild of Town Pipers and Blondel for a full day of music making, learning and fun. This workshop is open to Guild members and non-members.

The day includes:

  • large group playing sessions
  • smaller coaching sessions for groups
  • a big play through at the end
  • music from Blondel’s evening concert, including J’ay pris amours, La spagna, T’Andernaken and Een vrolic wesen

What to bring:

  • your own packed lunch
  • your own music stand
  • instruments: loud winds, recorders, sackbuts, percussion (some bagpipes in D and G available)
  • your preferred clefs (indicate on the form)

Music will be provided on the day. Teas and coffees available.

Blondel are known for their lively and engaging performances of medieval and renaissance wind music. Their evening concert will close the Cover Story tour.
