- Found guilty in absence of six offences relating to conditions at Bidwalla Fruit & Vegetables, Unit 45, Birmingham Wholesale Market, The Hub, Nobel Way, Birmingham B6 7EU on two separate occasions. They failed to comply with two Hygiene Improvement Notices requiring they put in place permaant procedures based on HACCP and provide hot running water to the sanitary accommodation wash hand basin, provide materials for hygienic hand drying, provide lighting to one of the walk in chillers and clean equipment and structures. The premises was not kept clean. Pest proofing was also extremely poor and the structure of the premises was unsuitable allowing access to pests. There was severe pest activity in the form of cockroaches and rodent droppings and retail shelving throughout the store was contaminated with rodent droppings.
