About the school

World’s End Infant and Nursery School is a thriving school in the Quinton area. We have a relatively new Senior Leadership Team with both a new Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher. We are on an embarking on an exciting new chapter for the school and would welcome fresh expertise on the Governing Body. We are a three-form school with a nursery and have a high proportion of Pupil Premium and SEND children and a dedicated team of staff who are relentless in their pursuit to not only educate but also to nurture all children who attend.

The main responsibilities of a Governor
As part of a team:
• Setting the strategic direction of the school;
• Holding the leadership to account for the performance of the school;
• Making sure that resources are used well and that money is well spent.
Requirements
There are no specific qualifications for the role of governor. You just need the right attitude, enthusiasm, and time to devote to the role.
Specific requirements for this school

Finance and/or HR experience.

Day and times of most meetings

The full governing board (FGB) has 6 meetings per year which take place on a Thursday at 6pm. There is also a Finance & Pay committee that meets 3 times per year on a Thursday at 6pm.  

The time commitment
Approximately 10 days per year spent attending meetings, visiting the school from time-to-time and undertaking relevant training.
