One offence of failing to ensure the health, safety and welfare at work of employees, in relation to the risks arising from carrying out gas works at Mardin Barbers, 95 Holyhead Road. Birmingham. A gas explosion occurred at the shop which blew out a rear storey wall and the front pane of glass in the shop, narrowly missing a member of the public and causing an entire brick wall at the rear to collapse.
