Offence details
15 offences relating to conditions at UK Supermarket, 1082-1084 Stratford Road, Birmingham on five separate dates. On the first occasion there were no procedures based on HACCP principles and the butchery, shop floor and shelving were all found to be dirty. Rubbish from the business, including food waste, was strewn across the rear yard. There was no soap or hand drying facilities provided to the wash hand basin in the sanitary accommodation. Rubbish was still found to be strewn across the rear yard during the next three inspections. On the fifth inspection, there were still no procedures based on HACCP principles. The sanitary accommodation was dirty and in disrepair, the shop ceiling was leaking and the concrete section of the floor at the shop entrance was damaged. The brush strip to the rear door was damaged, leaving a gap which could permit the ingress of mice. Mr Ahmed also failed to comply with a Hygiene Improvement Notices requiring there were adequate means for the storing and disposing of business waste, as the business waste was discarded loose in the rear yard.
