About the school

Shaw Hill Primary School is a two form entry primary school with a nursery situated in the inner city of Birmingham. The school was built in 1901. There are 468 pupils on roll in total: 441 pupils from reception to year six and part-time places in nursery for 54 children.

The main responsibilities of a Governor
As part of a team:
•Setting the strategic direction of the school;
•Holding the leadership to account for the performance of the school;
•Making sure that resources are used well and that money is well spent.
Requirements
There are no specific qualifications for the role of governor. You just need the right attitude, enthusiasm, and time to devote to the role.
Specific requirements for this school

We would really value an individual with experience of HR, ER or building/site supervision.

Day and times of most meetings

There are at least 4 governing body meetings a year via teams or in person. These normally take place after school from approximately 5pm-7-pm.

The time commitment
Approximately 10 days per year spent attending meetings, visiting the school from time-to-time and undertaking relevant training.
