About the park

This stretch of open parkland is bordered by Yardley Green Road to the north and flanks the River Cole. It is one of several sections of open space that combined make up the Kingfisher Country Park - an 11km greenspace project set up in 2004 between Birmingham City Council and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council. The entire Kingfisher Park follows the course of the River Cole and runs through East Birmingham and North Solihull from Hay Mills to Chelmsley Wood.

A well-defined tarmac path runs north south through the open space, roughly parallel with the River Cole and is flanked by trees along the way. There is direct access to Haybarn Recreation Ground to the south and Sycamores Recreation Ground to the north, which also form part of Kingfisher Park.
