Fox Hollies School is a small, inclusive special school in Birmingham, catering for students aged 11–19 with severe and complex learning disabilities.
At Fox Hollies, every individual is valued. We understand that our students face unique barriers to learning, and we are committed to delivering a curriculum that offers motivation and purpose for each individual, celebrating every small step of progress. Our curriculum is designed to provide a breadth of quality learning experiences that enrich our students' lives, focusing on key communication, functional, social, and life skills to better equip them for life beyond Fox Hollies.

- There are no specific qualifications for the role of governor. You just need the right attitude, enthusiasm, and time to devote to the role.

Governors are responsible for setting the strategic direction of the school, holding school leadership to account for the performance of the school and making sure that resources are used well and money is well spent.
All applications will be welcomed, particularly from those with an interest in provision for students with additional needs but also from applicants who may have experience in mainstream education or the voluntary sector. Those with a legal background or experience of managing estates would also be valued.
Volunteering as a School Governor is a great opportunity to gain school leadership experience at board level as well as transferable skills that enhance performance and employability. Most of all, you will have the satisfaction of making a real difference
- Day and times of most meetings

The Governing Board meet once each half term, alternating between Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Governors are also expected to make visits to the School during the working day and to complete relevant training, much of which can be completed online and at a pace to suit the individual.
- The time commitment
- Approximately 10 days per year spent attending meetings, visiting the school from time-to-time and undertaking relevant training.
