Tour book of coupons with stamp on advertising London to Killarney route. This was a major company in Britain. Linking London with the North West of England and up to Carlisle. It was formed in 1843 with the merger of the Grand Junction Railway, the London and Birmingham Railway and the Manchester and Birmingham Railway. Its livery was black engines and purple coaches.

After World War One much of the railway infra-structure was worn out and competition from road transport had impacted on rail. In 1923 the government forced all companies to amalgamate into four large companies and London and North Western became part of London Midland Scottish Railway.
