A selection of Third Class railway tickets issued by London, Midland and Scottish Railways dating back to the 920s and early 1930s.

London Midland Scottish were one of the “big four” companies formed by the government in the 1920s from an amalgamation of other companies. It served all parts of the country. It operated from 1923 and became Britain’s second biggest employer. Along with the other major companies, it was nationalised in 1948, becoming part of British Railways.
