San Francisco ferry building and bay

The ferry building was opened in 1898. Up to 50,000 people a day used it to commute. However, use declined as the bay and Golden Gate bridges were opened and by the 1950s it was in a state of disrepair.
In recent years it has been repaired and restored to house office space and a market place.
