Messenger and sons trade card

The Messengers were renowned as one of the top lamp manufacturers of their time. The company was first noted in 1815 and originally based in Gloucester Place, Alston Street, Birmingham. By 1835 Messengers were trading at 15-16 Broad Street, Easy Row, expanding into premises at 19-20 Broad Street by the 1870s.

Messengers exhibited at the Great Exhibition of 1851.
