Gertrude M Bradley was a student at the Birmingham School of Art in the late 1800s. Arthur Gaskin, Georgie Gaskin, Bernard Sleigh, Mary Newill, Kate Bunce, Henry Payne, Sidney Meteyard, Celia Levitus, Winifred Smith, Charles March Gere, Sidney Heath and Maxwell Armfield are just some of the many influential artists connected with the Birmingham School, many of which went on to illustrate books for children.
