The Foundry (formerly Goldwyns)

Situated in Beak Street. This was known as Goldwyns Nightclub before it changed to become The Foundry. As Goldwyns it opened in 1989 as a nightclub hosting cabaret acts and aimed for a more upmarket audience.
However, it really became known as a gig venue for national and international stars - Nirvana(1990), Crowded House and Blur (1991) for example.
It went into a name change, becoming The Foundry which became a venue for indie and punk bands. The site has since become an office block.
